Student Exchange

The objective of this project was  to defray costs of exchange student bus transportation and admission fees to a variety of educational venues in and around our area (e.g. Doukhobor Cultural Centre in Castlegar, Nikkei Internment Centre in New Denver, SS Moyie Historical Museum in Kaslo). Community Directed Youth Fund (2012, 2103, 2014)

Samba Band

In 2011, Ben Johnson, drummer extraordinaire, wanted to start a Samba Band. A grant for the initial drums was received from the Columbia Basin Trust. Today the band practices and performs regularly in glorious costume with gusto! They now have their own webpage: Samba Lago Profundo
